| Jermaine O'Neal, he of the $19.7 million contract this season and the $44.2 million still owed to him, got up a few shots in pregame warmups and then called it a night.

| Mike Dunleavy has, when it comes to pure point production, helped his Indiana Pacers more than any other player. The Duke product started his NBA career as a Golden State Warrior, where he cracked the double figures in already his second year, after becoming a starter shortly after the season had started.

| With Donnie Walsh on the outs in Indianapolis, it's only reasonable to take a look back at a 20+ year career that has made Walsh one of the NBA's most respected GMs over the last two decades.

| Don't call Jermaine O'Neal injury-prone. Despite recently sitting out 33 games with a knee injury, he doesn't think that term applies to him. He has a better explanation for his time away from the court, one that he purposely kept a secret from the media.

| Indiana has won 4 out of their last 5 games in their run to keep their playoff hopes alive, and Mike Dunleavy, Jr. has been a central part of that effort. He has played over 40 minutes in their last two games and, as has been the norm this season, he has contributed significantly to the team's success in each of those games. Expect that trend to continue. Pacers Head Coach Jim O'Brien says that while his team depends on contributions from Danny Granger also, the Pacers will rely more on Dunleavy down the stretch.

| Midway through the 2006-07 season, Mike Dunleavy, Jr.'s career had hit its nadir: he was playing the fewest minutes and scoring his fewest points since his rookie year, lost in the rotation on a Golden State team going nowhere. The fifth-year pro had done little to justify his No. 3 overall selection in the 2002 draft, and few questioned the Warriors when they shipped him to Indiana.

| Darryl Jerard Augustin has many friends in the NBA – T.J. Ford, Kevin Durant and LaMarcus Aldridge to name a few. And come June's NBA Draft, the sophomore point guard out of Texas known as D.J. plans on joining them in the league. He's just not sure where.

| In this latest Year of the Point Guard, the emergence of several dynamic combo guards has flown under the radar. The Pistons would be happy to tell you just how important such a player can be, having kept their heads above water in the latter two rounds of the playoffs due in large part to steady contributions from rookie Rodney Stuckey.

| As is customary in the days leading up to an NBA Draft, the trade rumors are really starting circulate. This year's first big rumor centers around the Indiana Pacers sending Jermaine O'Neal to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for T.J. Ford, Rasho Nesterovic, and possibly Toronto's 17 th pick in this Thursday's draft.

| Wolves Won't Be Left Out: The Timberwolves, like just about every team in the draft, expect to be talking trade in the next 48-60 hours. With either O.J. Mayo or Michael Beasley available at this spot, that's a position a large number of teams – reportedly a list that includes Portland, the LA Clippers, Memphis, and a host of others – would like to be in. Supposedly the Wolves draft list has Mayo at the top of the board followed by Kevin Love, but that only assumes Beasley has been picked. So really, isn't it Mayo and that's all? It's not like if the Miami HEAT take Mayo they Wolves would then choose Love, leaving Beasley to the Seattle SuperSonics at the four spot. That would be silly, especially when they could draft Beasley and trade him to Seattle for the #4 pick, probably another #1 (Seattle also owns the #24 pick in the first round) and likely a future pick as well.

| Brandon Rush is a tremendous choice for the Portland Trail Blazers, should they choose to keep him (rumors are swirling like crazy and no one ever expected Portland to keep this pick). He is a solid defender on the wing, a great shooter, and can score points like crazy. Rush's only knock? He needs to be more aggressive. Could be worse.

| For a long time leading up to this year's draft, most people thought Jerryd Bayless would be landing in Seattle at selection number 4. Instead, he goes eleventh to the Indiana Pacers, who despite picking up T.J. Ford in a trade this week were able to add even more depth at the point guard position.

| This summer the Indiana Pacers finally signaled the start of rebuilding by trading away Jermaine O'Neal. The only thing is that instead of breaking everything down to start over, the Pacers actually really improved themselves through a savvy trade and a couple of really nice picks in the draft. The following takes a closer look at what the Pacers have done this summer, and how they deserved to be judged for each move.
